How to upgrade Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 to Official Ice Cream Sandwich ICS 4.0.3 N7000XXLPY

Follow below instructions to upgrade Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 to official stock ROM Ice Cream Sandwich ICS 4.0.3 N7000XXLPY :

  • First make backup of contact, sms, apps, etc

  • Prepare USB cable, Fully charged N7000

  • Download Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 N7000XXLPY Ice Cream Sandwich ICS 4.0.3 Open Germany firmware update and extract it

  • Download Odin3 v1.87 from here

  • If you have not install Samsung USB drivers or Samsung KIES yet, download here or mirror and then install it.

  • Turn off the phone

  • Put your Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 into download mode by pressing and holding Volume down + HOME + Power button until Warning!! message appear on phone screen's and the press Volume Up button to continue

  • Your Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 should be in downloading mode now, (Android picture with Downloading... text appear on the phone)

  • Connect Galaxy Note to pc by USB cable, make sure driver is installed

  • Open Odin3 v1.87.exe

  • Make sure your N7000 detected by odin (ID:COM should be yellow on odin)

  • Here is the files that should be selected on odin :


PDA : N7000XXLPY_N7000OXALPY_N7000XXLPT_HOME.tar.md5


  • Press Start button then upgrading Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 to Ice Cream Sandwich ICS 4.0.3 N7000XXLPY process will be started

  • Wait until finish and odin show PASS!

  • Congratulations, you have official stock ROM Ice Cream Sandwich ICS 4.0.3 on your Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 now

  • Its recomended to wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition in recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume Up + HOME + Power button until recovery screen shown up while phone in off state

How to control Android devices from a PC

Almost every time I spent my whole day at the front of the computer,  to finish my work, browsing or just playing with my android phone. Activities that I like most is tinkering with my android phone. I often install and uninstall a lots of android apps and games. Sometimes I was busy  to read and send or reply sms message, so I was thinking in my mind if I could control my android phone from my PC, it will be perfect. So I go to the android market and search for a suitable apps and end up with Airdroid. With Airdroid installed on my Android, I have these benefits to control my android phone from my pc:

  • Easy to transfer files between my Android phone and computers. It can cut, copy, paste, search, rename or delete files on the SD card.

  • Read, send,replay, forward or delete SMS messages from PC

  • Install, uninstall, backup, search apps

  • Preview, delete, import, export, set as wallpaper and photos slide show from desktop

  • Share clipboard text between PC and android device

  • Contact management and call logs

  • Search, preview, import, export, delete and customize ringtones for phone calls, notifications and alarms from computer

  • Music : Play, search, import, export, delete, or set as phone call, notification and alarm ringtones

Ok, I'll explain how to control Android devices from a PC using Airdroid apps, here's the steps

  • You need WiFi connection / AP in your computer

  • Connect your android devices to PC with WiFi connection

  • Start Airdroid apps on your Android device

  • Optionally you can set predefined password for Airdroid access

  • Make sure Airdroid was started, if not started then hit start button

  • Open browser in your computer / PC and enter airdroid IP in addres bar and open it

  • Input Airdroid password and happy controlling your Android device from your PC
